Local couple celebrates 70th anniversary

Donald and Mary (Eagleson) Gallogly were married on March 30, 1951 by the Rev. Howard Patrick in the Methodist Church of New Concord. The following June, they both graduated from Muskingum College and, in August, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps. She remained in New Castle, Pennsylvania with her parents. Upon his discharge, the pair lived in New Castle until he began to work for Kaiser Aluminum in Newark in 1954. Their three children were born in Newark. In 1961, they moved to Harbor Hills on Buckeye Lake. In 1980, he was transferred as controller of the Bedford, Indiana Kaiser Plant. He retired from Kaiser in 1985 and moved to Marysville. In 1995, they moved into their motorhome and spent 16 years traveling the country. They came back to Marysville in 2011 and continue to reside in the city. They are the parents of Carol (Carl) Siegle of Marysville, Robert (Cathy) Gallogly of Newark and Laura (Joseph) Rivera of Northfield. They also have three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren. One grandchild, Cory Siegle, is deceased.
