Couple celebrates 70th anniversary

Carl and Jeanie (Heinlen) Thiergartner are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple was married at the United Methodist Church in West Liberty by Pastor F. M. Wentz on July 29, 1951. Together, they have three children, Mike (Lois) Thiergartner of Marysville, Stan (Denise) Thiergartner of Milford Center and Bonnie Thiergartner of Marysville. They also have six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The pair retired from farming on their family farm. A family reunion, at which their anniversary was celebrated, was held in July with 70 family members in attendance.

Workers take in smoke in Amazon site fire

The Amazon data center at 8565 Industrial Parkway, which is currently under construction in Jerome Township, suffered smoke damage after a fire occurred in an HVAC unit inside of the building. Officials are still investigating the cause and extent of the damage. Five injuries caused by smoke inhalation were reported and one individual was transported to OSU.
