Edward Leroy Archer, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on October 9, 2024.
Ed graduated from Fairbanks High School in 1963. He was employed at the OM Scotts & Sons Company and retired after 41 years of employment as a maintenance planner scheduler. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany from 1965-1968, and was honorably discharged in 1971 after being released from Ready Reserve.
Ed was mechanically inclined and ahead of his time, considering his affinity for technology. He also took much joy in expressing his creative side through his craft projects. He enjoyed the friendships he had made as a longtime member of the Moose and Eagles, and he loved camping and fishing around the Indian Lake area. Always up for an adventure, Ed took numerous road trips, including a recent one out west, and explored many tropical locations through cruises.
He was born November 7, 1945, in Montgomery County to Leroy and Carmen (Addington) Archer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Connie (Rowland) Archer, as well as other extended family members.
He is survived by daughter Michelle (Les) Clayton, Columbus, daughter Teressa (Randy) Snedegar, Westerville, son Jared (Erin) Archer, East Liverpool, son Jacob (Katie) Archer, Marysville, son Benjamin Archer, Columbus, and step-son Michael (Robin) Thompson, Middleburg. He was grandfather to Talmon, Victoria, and Nicole Clayton, Nathan Snedegar, Isaiah Archer, Jaiden, Kalen, and Keagan Archer, and Trinity Thompson. Ed is also survived by his loving sisters Susan (Gary) Holler, West Milton, and Elizabeth Archer of Huber Heights, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service for Ed will be announced and held in December. Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve Ed’s family, and condolences may be expressed to them at www.IngramFuneralService.com.
