Memorial unveils EV charging stations

Memorial Health announced the opening of two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations located on the main hospital campus, in a visitor parking lot off Plum Street.

This project was made possible by Honda and reportedly reflects the growing demand for alternative fuel infrastructure in Union County. According to DriveOhio’s Ohio Alternative Fuel Vehicle Registration Dashboard, there are 715 registered alternative fuel vehicles in Union County, with 670 (93%) of them registered in Marysville alone. This data helped drive the need for EV charging stations, with a goal that the stations work for all alternative fuel vehicles that need a charging station.

The new charging stations are accessible to users 24 hours a day, with signage marking each spot. Users are asked to move their vehicles once they are finished charging so others may utilize the stations.

This initiative is a result of a 2024 contribution from Honda. Within its corporate social responsibility environment pillar and in support of organizations dedicated to fostering a healthy planet. Honda awards funding to programs leading environmental education, awareness-building and infrastructure that help play a crucial role in building a sustainable future for all.
