BLES students celebrate Earth Day with campus cleanup
Benjamin Logan Elementary students marked the 56th observance of Earth Day with hands-on environmental work across campus. Members of the Elementary Science Club began by learning about the history and global impact of Earth Day before taking action to prepare the school’s pollinator plots and garden beds for the upcoming growing season. Students then participated in a team-based cleanup of the school’s land lab, collecting a significant amount of litter and helping restore the outdoor learning space. Students also spotted a toad during their work—an encouraging sign of a healthy ecosystem, as amphibians are important environmental indicators. The activity provided students with a meaningful opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world environmental stewardship.
