Marysville football program facing new opponents for 2026 campaign

Above, a large crowd fills downtown Plain City during one of the community’s original Corn Carnivals. Held annually from 1914 through 1919, the Corn Carnival drew visitors from across the region with parades, contests, entertainment and agricultural exhibits. The festival celebrated the area’s agricultural heritage while bringing together residents for one of the community’s largest annual gatherings. The grave of Col. James Curry, shown above at Oakdale Cemetery, marks the final resting place of one of Union County’s founders and a Revolutionary War veteran. Originally buried on his Jerome Township farm after his death in 1834, Curry and his wife were reinterred at Oakdale Cemetery in 1883, where the monument stands as one of the county’s most significant links to the American Revolution.
