School Bus Involved in Crash

Springfield – On October 2, 2026, at approximately 07:43 AM, troopers with the Springfield Post were dispatched to a two-vehicle non-injury crash involving a school bus. The crash occurred on River Road near Tremont City Road in Clark County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck operated by Jeffrey L. Baker, 56, of Dayton, Ohio, was northbound on River Road. A 2026 IC school bus operated by Lindsay N. Shields, 34, of Springfield, was northbound on River Road. The vehicles sideswiped one another.

The school bus, assigned to Northwestern Local School District, was transporting 14 students at the time of the crash.

No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. This crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
